Service — Mobile Refrigerated Storage

Somewhere Cold To Put It, While The Unit Gets Fixed.

Most refrigeration companies send a technician and leave your product warming for the length of the diagnosis. We stage refrigerated storage at your dock on the same call.

What Actually Arrives

A refrigerated trailer is positioned where your product can reach it, brought down to the range you specify, and monitored for as long as your goods are inside. In parallel — not afterwards — a 313A-licensed mechanic works the failed unit.

The two halves are the whole point. Storage alone leaves you with a unit still broken tomorrow. Repair alone leaves your inventory sitting at rising temperature while the fault is traced.

Custom Cold Storage — Every Size, Every Type

One reach-in's worth of product or a full multi-zone backroom, refrigerated or frozen, a tight downtown laneway or an open distribution yard — we put the solution together around your load, your temperature range and what your site can physically take.

A failed prep table and a rack failure are not the same problem, and they don't get the same answer. Dispatch confirms exactly what's coming with you on the call, before it leaves.

When Operators Call For It

  • A walk-in or freezer has failed and product has to move now
  • A rack failure has taken several zones down at once
  • A planned equipment replacement or renovation shutdown
  • Seasonal or event overflow beyond normal cold capacity
  • A power outage that outlasted what the boxes could hold

What Dispatch Needs From You

Six answers decide whether the right unit arrives on the first trip. Have them ready and the call takes under two minutes.

  • The address, and where a trailer can physically sit
  • What's affected — one walk-in, several cases, or a full backroom
  • Roughly how much product, in pallets, shelves or cases
  • The temperature range it has to hold
  • Any site access limits: gate codes, height restrictions, escort requirements
  • Who will be on site to open up and sign off

Preparing A Spot For The Trailer

A few minutes of preparation before arrival saves considerably longer on site. If you're unsure whether your loading area works, describe it on the call.

  • A firm, reasonably level surface — dock apron, lot corner or laneway
  • Clear approach for a truck to back in, and room to open the rear doors
  • A power source within reach, or ask dispatch about generator supply
  • A route from your unit to the trailer that doesn't cross a live service line

Questions About Mobile Cold Storage

Can I rent a trailer without booking a repair?

Yes. Planned shutdowns, renovations, seasonal overflow and equipment replacements are all normal reasons to want temporary cold storage without anything being broken. Tell dispatch it's planned rather than an emergency and we'll schedule it.

How much product will fit?

Whatever you need it to. We put together custom cold storage for every size and every type of load — a single reach-in's worth through to a full multi-zone backroom. Give dispatch a rough count in pallets, racks or shelves and a coordinator confirms exactly what's coming before it leaves.

Does the trailer need my power?

Ask dispatch when you call. Power arrangements are confirmed per unit and per site, including generator options where a suitable supply isn't available.

Who insures my product while it's in your trailer?

Your own policy does. Cold Rescue carries commercial liability insurance and is WSIB registered, but we don't insure the value of your stock — most commercial policies already extend to goods held off-premises, and it's worth confirming that with your broker before you need it. What we provide is the evidence your insurer will ask for: time out, time in, the temperature held throughout, and the diagnosed fault.

Do you monitor and record temperature?

Temperature is monitored for the duration product is in our storage, and we can provide that record along with time-out and time-in timestamps for your QA or insurance file.

How long can the trailer stay?

From a single overnight through to a multi-week placement during a replacement or renovation. Longer placements are arranged as a scheduled rental rather than an emergency call-out.
